PLC and Hybrid communication solutions provided by ADDAX are very reliable and without a serious effort allow a stable communication channel with 98% of meters or more. However there are situations when PLC or RF communication is impossible or economically not feasible. For instance if there are less than 5 electricity consumers per distribution transformer, or when smart meters are provided to large consumers only. In such cases it is advisable to use P2P communication, i.e. direct communication channel between meters and Head End Software.
The ADDAX IMS from ADD Grup allows integration of mobile data transmission module 3GPP (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, LTE, LTE CAT M1), to enable communication with the head-end software directly, bypassing the data concentrator. The introduction of 3GPP as an additional module will also significantly increase the level of data collection in extremely remote areas, since the range of the LTE network, for example, reaches 15 km.
