On June 11 in Tallinn, ADD GRUP, together with its partner VIRA, held a presentation of the new generation of ADDAX smart electricity meters for representatives of Estonian distribution network operators and the energy sector.
The event took place at a crucial time for Estonia as the country prepares for a large-scale modernization of its electricity metering infrastructure. In the coming years, network operators will need to replace hundreds of thousands of meters to comply with new European Union requirements for near real-time data collection and transmission.
During the event, Ruslan Casico, Head of Sales & Marketing at ADD GRUP, presented the new generation of ADDAX Series 9 meters, developed to meet the future requirements of the European market. Key advantages highlighted included high reliability, support for modern PRIME 1.4 PLC communications, enhanced tamper protection, advanced cybersecurity mechanisms, and the use of supercapacitors instead of traditional backup batteries.
Today, ADD GRUP solutions are already operating in Estonia. The company has supplied more than 116,000 electricity meters and cooperates with most local distribution network operators.
“Estonia and Moldova are similar in many ways in terms of scale and their approach to innovation, which creates a solid foundation for cooperation,” noted Ruslan Casico during the event.
The publication in the leading industry magazine Elektriala confirms the strong interest of Estonia’s energy community in ADD GRUP technologies and their potential role in the country’s upcoming digital transformation of energy infrastructure.
