ADDRA new generation ultrasonic water meter ADR series is now MID certified!

The European market for commercial water metering is entering a new phase of development. Today, manufacturers of measuring instruments are expected not only to formally comply with regulations, but also to demonstrate a deep understanding of the real challenges faced by operators, utilities, and end users.

Metering systems can no longer remain static. Regulatory requirements are becoming more complex, digital infrastructure is evolving, and certificates and approvals become obsolete quickly. Under these conditions, maintaining market relevance without continuous updates to technology, device architecture, and conformity assessment is becoming nearly impossible.

For the EU market, valid certification is not a formality but a fundamental condition of trust. However, this is increasingly no longer sufficient. Utilities and operators expect metering devices to:

  • be prepared for future regulatory changes;
  • support new consumption management scenarios;
  • ensure long-term measurement stability without compromise;
  • integrate seamlessly into modern AMI and Smart City platforms.

As a result, manufacturers are forced to regularly update certification, device architecture, and software logic in order to avoid losing relevance just a few years after market launch.

The new generation of ADDRA intelligent ultrasonic water meters has been developed with these challenges in mind. ADR is not just a measuring device, but a component of a digital water resource management infrastructure.

Key advantages of ADR meters:

  • high accuracy up to R1600 and long-term measurement stability throughout the entire service life;
  • ultra-low starting flow from 1 l/hour, enabling detection of even minimal leaks;
  • a full set of events and alerts: leaks, bursts, reverse flow, pressure, tampering attempts, low battery, and more;
  • support for an external automatic valve and remote water supply control;
  • support for an external replaceable power supply;
  • readiness for operation within AMI systems based on advanced MultiRAT scenarios.

ADDRA was designed as a product capable of remaining relevant amid rapidly changing standards and market expectations.

As part of the development of its intelligent metering ecosystem, ADD GRUP is preparing to launch ADR-V — a series of meters with an integrated valve, designed for installation in locations with limited space where a separate valve cannot be installed.

We invite you to visit our stand at E-world Energy and Water 2026, see the solutions in operation, and discuss potential applications for your projects. You will be able to assess the advantages of the updated ADDRA series and learn how the new master meter architecture helps optimize metering and improve the efficiency of water resource management. We look forward to meeting you and engaging in a professional dialogue.
