ADDAX IMS selected as the solution for the pilot project in Lithuania

Lithuanian National DSO ESO awarded the implementation of Smart Metering pilot project to the consortium of UAB Tecnolines, SIA Elko and ADD-Production S.R.L. as a result of competitive international tender. The purpose of the pilot is to analyze the costs benefits of smart metering deployment in Lithuania.
Some 3600 meters will be deployed along with communication infrastructure. Main communication will be based on PRIME PLC, with potential use of cellular communication. ESO begins preparations for the deployment of smart meters. Similar projects involving ADDAX IMS have been deployed through Poland, Latvia, Slovakia.
“Smart meters will open up new opportunities for both our clients and our professionals.” said Liudas Liutkevičius, ESO Director General, as quoted by aina.lt.
The pilot project is being implemented by Lithuania’s commitment to the European Commission (EC) to test smart metering pilot project. Depending on the results of the project, the company will decide whether to take the massive introduction of smart meters.
